HURON COUNTY – Rodeo events in Exeter, antique show and sale in Bayfield, and Celtic music in Goderich give plenty of entertainment selection this weekend. Time it just right, and you can wind your way across the county in a feast of activity.

Friday
Bayfield Antique Show and Sale, Bayfield
Date: Friday, Aug. 10 gala event, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Tickets $12 at the door this night only); Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Bayfield Arena, 4 Jane St.
This annual event features vendors of antiques and collectibles set up on the arena floor. Admission $5 on Saturday and Sunday. Tea room. Fund-raiser for Trinity Anglican Church in Bayfield.
Brussels Farmers’ Market, Brussels
Date: Friday, Aug. 10, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays through to Oct. 5
Location: Historic downtown Brussels across from the Post Office and beside the LCBO.
Fresh produce, preserves, jams & jellies, organic meats, perogies, baking, plants, flowers, wood products, live food stations, and much more. Artisans crafts as well. Live entertainment.
Ram Rodeo, Exeter
Date: Friday, Aug. 10, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday, Aug. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 12, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: South Huron Recreation Centre Rodeo Arena, 94 Victoria St. E.
Bring the entire family out to witness the thrills and spills of this exciting event. The grounds are open the entire weekend so that families can drop by, chat with the cowboys/girls, witness what goes on behind the scenes and grab an autograph. Celtic Roots Festival, Goderich
Date: Friday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 11, from 11 a.m. to midnight; Sunday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to closing ceremonies at 9:30 p.m.
Location: Lions Harbour Park

Piping Down the Sun, Goderich

Join the Celtic Blue Highlanders Pipe Band every Friday evening, one hour before sunset, until Aug. 24 as they “pipe down the sun.”
CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN – Canadian Cancer Society: Relay for Life Walk, Wingham
Date: Friday, Aug. 10, from 7 p.m. until Saturday, Aug. 11 at 7 a.m.
Location: F.E. Madill Secondary School, 231 Madill Dr.
Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life gives the community the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember and honour loved ones lost to cancer and fight back against all cancers.
Saturday
Fiddling at the Falls Jamboree, Benmiller
Date: Saturday, Aug. 11, starting at 1 p.m.
Location: Falls Reserve Conservation Area, 80900 Falls Reserve Line
The 21st annual event features music by the Gypsy Campers 96. The music will play at the picnic shelter in the day-use area. Musicians are welcome to register and play. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy some terrific music in a great setting.
Sounds of Nature Interpretive Program, Benmiller
Date: Saturday, Aug. 11, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Falls Reserve Conservation Area, 80900 Falls Reserve Line
Join FRCA staff at the Visitor Centre for a program about natural sounds. Listen to and identify a variety of nature sounds heard at Falls Reserve. Children will have an opportunity to make a musical instrument from recycled materials to take home.
Perseids Meteor Shower Viewing & Hike Central Huron
Date: Saturday, Aug. 11, starting at 7:30 p.m. (Rain date Aug. 12)
Location: Hullett Main Viewing Stand, 40905 Summerhill Rd.
Come out for a viewing of the Perseid meteor shower in the night sky. There will be a hike beginning at 7:30 p.m., followed by a viewing of the sky at dusk. BIA Farmers’ Market, Goderich
Date: Saturday, Aug. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Downtown Square
Check out the fresh produce, baked goods, plants and crafts at the BIA Farmers’ Market in its new format in downtown Goderich. The space used will be the periphery of Courthouse Square, encompassing the angle parking spaces and sidewalk promenade, with vending toward the sidewalk and storefronts. The sections of The Square used for the Farmers’ Market will be from South Street corner, around counter clockwise to Hamilton Street.
Knox Mega Sale, Goderich
Date: Saturday, Aug. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ambassador Fair Competition – Brussels Fall Fair, Brussels

Contestants’ speeches begin at 7:30 p.m., with crowning to following. Contestants will be judged on address, personality, interview, overall appearance and impromptu speech. Hannah McCutcheon, 2011-12 ambassador, will attend. Refreshments available. Admission by donation.
Town-Wide Yard Sale & Firemen’s Breakfast, Zurich
