GODERICH – A three-year deal has been struck between Huron County and its public health nurses, after council approval today.
Council discussed the details in closed session, but later George Robertson, who is the county’s warden, announced a deal that gives the nurses a one per cent raise retroactive to the start of 2012, 1.5 per cent in 2013, and 1.75 per cent in 2014. The contract with ONA Local 21, which represents 26 nurses employed in the county’s health unit, runs from Jan. 1, 2012 to Dec. 31, 2014.
A tentative deal was reached Friday, and ratified by the board of health at a special meeting yesterday before being referred to county council. The local already ratified the deal.
