Much colder Arctic air being ushered into the regions in the wake of a sharp Arctic cold front will make conditions favourable for the development of snow squalls off of Lake Huron beginning this evening and Georgian Bay on Wednesday.

Local snowfall amounts of 15 cm per 12 hours will be possible in the strongest snowsquall. Strong westerly winds tonight and then northwesterly winds on Wednesday will result in very low to possibly nil visibility in blowing snow.

Driving conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly beginning tonight and become hazardous. Rapidly accumulating snow on untreated roads and very low to at times nil visibility in bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow are expected.

A winter storm centre over Northern Lake Michigan will drag a sharp Arctic cold front east across Southern Ontario as the storm centre itself tracks across Northeastern Ontario into Quebec.
