Firefighters battling blaze at door manufacturer in Huron East

bullethuron2HURON EAST – Firefighters have been battling a blaze at a manufacturing business in Huron East for nearly four hours this morning.

Around 4 a.m., Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to assist the Brussels Fire Department as they were fought a large structure fire south of Brussels on Cranbrook Road, according to a press release issued by police.

The fire at MDL Doors has resulted in the closure of Cranbrook Road between Brussels Line and McDonald Line.  Motorists are requested to find alternate routes of travel as Cranbrook Road is expected to remain closed for most of the day.

MDL Doors is a privately owned company that manufacturers steel and fiberglass doors. It has a 60,000-square-foot facility and warehouse located on a rural property adjacent to the Maitland River.
