BREAKING: Teenager found in Y’s pool dies

YexteriorBullet News GODERICH – A teenager who was pulled unconscious from the deep end of the YMCA swimming pool over the weekend has died.

Sarah, Henry-Mills, 14, of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh died at Children’s Hospital in London today, according to a press release issued by Huron County OPP.

On Jan. 19, at 4:37 pm, Huron OPP officers along with Huron County paramedics responded to a 9-1-1 call at the YMCA pool in the Maitland Recreation Centre, located on Suncoast Drive East in Goderich.

Lifeguards had removed a female teenager from the deep end of the pool, who was found unresponsive.  Lifeguards immediately started emergency life-saving measures.

She was transported to Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich, and then air lifted to Children’s Hospital in London.

Huron OPP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of the Coroner’s office.  Anyone with information that can assist is asked to call the Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.

    My thoughts are with this family. I hope they find some closure and get some answers via the investigation…but really nothing’s going to help much right now I’m sure.
