SPEEDER CHARGED WITH OVER 80

CENTRAL HURONOn Dec. 7, 2012 at 1:50 p.m., a Huron County OPP officer observed a Chevrolet passenger van travelling westbound at a high rate of speed on Huron Road near Benmiller Line. The officer activated the RADAR and confirmed the speed of the vehicle at 114km/h, which was 34 km/h above the posted speed limit.  Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol.

A 43-year-old man from Mississauga, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol and speeding. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on Jan. 28, 2013.  He received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

OFF ROAD TOUR LEADS TO OVER 80 CHARGE 

SOUTH HURON - On Dec. 9, 2012 just before 7 a.m., Huron County OPP officers were called to Centralia to patrol for a vehicle travelling off the roadway in a field near Prince Albert Street.  Officers conducted patrols and were able to spot the suspect vehicle travelling west on Canada Avenue in Huron Park.  Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the male driver.

Upon speaking with the driver, officers noted he had been drinking alcohol.  A roadside test was administered and the driver registered a fail.  He later provided two samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer technician; both tests were over the legal limit.

A 20-year-old man from Bluewater has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on Jan. 24, 2012.  He received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
