HURON EAST - A teenager was arrested by Huron County OPP after entering a home in Huron East and inviting two girls to touch him sexually yesterday.
Police located and arrested a 15-year-old boy yesterday afternoon.
The boy, from Huron East, is charged as a young offender with break and enter, using a disguise for an illegal intent, and invitation to sexual touching of someone under the age of 16.
He has since been released from custody with a court date set for Nov. 15, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
FAILING TO BUCKLE UP LEADS TO SEVERAL CHARGES
MORRIS-TURNBERRY – A passenger who didn’t wear his seat belt yesterday was stopped by a Huron County OPP officer on patrol, leading to a number of charges.
At 9:44 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2012 a green Ford pickup truck was seen travelling northbound on London Road near Belfast Road. The officer noticed the passenger was not wearing his seat belt and stopped the vehicle.
After speaking with the two male occupants, officers completed a search of the pickup truck. Officers located a baseball bat that had been modified for the purpose of being a weapon. Officers also located a quantity of illegal drugs inside the vehicle. Further checks on the driver revealed he was driving with a suspended licence and was currently on probation.
As a result of the investigation the passenger, a 34-year-old man from Howick Twp., is charged with: possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; obstructing a peace officer; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; and failing to properly wear a seat belt.
He has been released from custody with a court date set for Nov. 22, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham.
The driver, a 29-year-old man from London, is charged with: possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; obstructing a peace officer; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; two counts of failing to comply with a probation order; and driving while suspended. He is currently in custody.
MALE CHARGED WITH OVER 80
SOUTH HURON - On Sept. 26, 2012 just before 2:30 a.m., Huron County OPP officers observed a blue GMC Sonoma pickup travelling westbound on Huron Park Road. Officers followed and stopped the vehicle to complete a sobriety check on the driver.
Upon speaking with the male driver, officers noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. They also saw open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.
A man, 46, from South Huron has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on Oct. 18, 2012. He received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
ALUMINUM BRAKE STOLEN
HOWICK - Huron OPP officers are investigating the theft of a Trim Line 10’ aluminum brake valued at $2,800.
The brake was stolen from a construction site located on Howick-Turnberry Road. The brake was stolen sometime between 5 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2012 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 24, 2012. The brake is silver in colour with the letters THS written in red.
