A low pressure system developing over the American Midwest today will be tracking to Southwestern Ontario Friday. An area of rain is expected to form ahead of the low and could bring much needed rainfall to many areas of Southern Ontario which have seen drier than normal conditions so far this season.
Periods of rain are forecast to begin over Southwestern Ontario this evening then spread to south Central Ontario overnight and Eastern Ontario Friday. There is still some uncertainty regarding total rainfall amounts. However, current guidance indicates that 15 to 30 mm may be possible locally under heavier rain bands and embedded thunderstorms. Environment Canada continues to monitor the development of this system closely.
For today in Huron-Perth, expect cloud with 60 per cent chance of showers. Risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon. High 23. UV index 4 or moderate.
Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada.
