Police ask for public’s help in hunt for federal offender

TORONTO – The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of his breach of parole.

This offender is serving a sentence of two years and nine months for hostage taking, according to a press release.

According to an article in the Hamilton Spectator, Jason Boyd, 41, was convicted of holding a 17-month-old boy hostage with a broken bottle. Boyd is white, 5’9” (175 cms), 180 pounds, (82 kgs), with brown hair and hazel eyes. He often wears prescription eyeglasses. (Due to an error, the press release issued by police said Boyd was 29, however, he is 41, confirmed Det. Const. Brett Anderson.)

The offender is known to frequent the downtown Hamilton area on a grey bicycle.
