Goderich’s Brock Dykxhoorn, a 17-year-old right-handed pitcher, was chosen by the Cincinnati Reds in the 20th round last week.
He was chosen on the third and final round of first-year draft to Major League Baseball teams, according to an article in the Globe and Mail.
Dykxhoorn is on the Junior National Team that will participate at the world championship in Seoul at the end of August.

According to the Cincinnati Reds’ website, Dykxhoorn is still unsigned. The deadline is 5 p.m. on July 13.
