Blyth Festival Singers Music of the Americas
Blyth Festival Singers introduce classical, traditional and contemporary pieces of music from countries of the Western Hemisphere, with help from their special guest, the Huron Harp School. Expect some amazing surprises as we present an eclectic mix including soulful numbers from Jamaica, contemporary pieces from North America, songs from Guatemala and other Central American countries with a lively beat, a smattering of Stephen Foster, and more! What characterizes most of the choir’s pieces is its lively yet universal appeal. And that is just the beginning! After her recent travels to teach at a cultural centre in El Salvador, Sharon Johnson, together with the Huron Harp School are sure to have some surprises in store for you, as they tantalize your musical tastebuds with a whole new style of latin harp music. Add some percussion and the acoustic space of Clinton United Church, and it will be an altogether lively and interesting concert you won't want to miss.
