oppplogoGODERICH – Huron OPP officers are investigating a break, enter and theft at a construction site located on Fairhaven Lane in Goderich.

A construction company working on a new home development had its locked utility trailer entered and numerous tools stolen.  Sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 4, 2013 unknown persons cut the locks from the trailer and left with a significant quantity of stolen property.

The total value of stolen property is estimated at $6,500.  Some of the stolen items are listed below:

  • Honda gas generator;
  • Yellow Dewalt 12” mitre saw;
  • Grey Paslode framing nailer;
  • Yellow Dewalt quick drive;
  • Two Bostitch roofing guns;
  • Stiletto hammer;
  • Yellow cordless Dewalt 18-v hammer drill;
  • Blue 8” Makita skill saw;
  • Yellow Dewalt skill saw; and
  • Red Milwaukee skill saw.

ATV DRIVER CHARGED WITH DRIVE UNDER SUSPENSION

CENTRAL HURON – On Feb. 3, 2013 at approximately 5 p.m., a Huron County OPP officer stopped two All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s) that were travelling across Victoria Street onto Railway Street in Clinton. The officer completed driver’s licences checks on both male drivers and determined one of the drivers had a suspended licence.

As a result, a 24-year-old from Central Huron has been charged with driving while suspended.  He has a court date scheduled for Provincial Offences Court – Goderich on March 5, 2013.
