Watson’s Home Hardware fire raises police suspicions

GODERICH – Police are looking for anyone who might have seen anything suspicious near the site of a Goderich fire earlier this week.

Jan. 21, shortly after 1 a.m., Huron County OPP and Goderich fire fighters responded to a fire at Watson’s Home Hardware on Bayfield Road. Firefighters contained the fire to outbuildings and exterior damage to the rear of the main building.

Huron County OPP wants to speak to anyone who may have information about this fire or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area of the Home Hardware store late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

OPP ask anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
