Bullet News GODERICH – One of the main roads off The Square in Goderich is finally open to traffic, nearly eight weeks after the tornado rendered it unsafe for travel.
A street sweeper cleared the last bits of debris from West Street between The Square and Waterloo Street, while worked continued on storefronts. Fencing limited travel ways, but the parking spaces quickly filled with vehicles.
On The Square, workers prepared buildings for demolition, removing plywood from windows and pulling salvageable materials away from the damaged buildings. At the site of the former Triangle Discount store, destroyed by fire years ago, workers prepared to build a new structure.
