GODERICH – The stories of business owners in Goderich and area who were affected by the tornado of August 2011 will be captured in a new initiative by the Huron Chamber of Commerce.
Judy Crawford, who is the chief executive officer of the chamber, said Catch the Ripple – Business Memories Project is an opportunity for the business community to tell experiences during and after the tornado.
“I am so proud of the business leaders of this community. Each of you cares so deeply for the community and its people. These stories will show to everyone what a wonderfully special place Goderich and area is to work, play and do business,” she said.
The project will call on volunteer assistance of Cathy Cove, co-editor of Not Like Any Other Sunday, a compilation of more than 50 stories that came out of the tornado that destroyed many homes and businesses, and killed one person.
“As I began interviewing last month, it became very clear to me that business owners had their own unique stories to tell, wrought with challenges, triumphs, awe and inspiration. I am touched by the sheer determination and love of community that I hear as a common thread in the stories so far,” Cove said.
If you would like to tell your business story, or know of a business owner who would like to Catch the Ripple, please contact Judy Crawford at the Chamber Office by phoning 519-440-0176 or e-mailing judy@huronchamber.ca

I will expect that the information provided by Dr. Shipley, written in the Municipal World, will be included in the prose of the above.
